Eight years on since he first stepped foot on the pitch at Anfield, Jurgen klopp is now the seventh longest-serving manager in the club’s history. By the time he reaches the end of his current contract in 2026, he’ll be fourth in the history of the club.
Klopp came to the club with the promise of being ‘The Normal One’, but he’s proven to be so much more. He’s transformed the club and brought long-awaited silverware to the club. There’s so much more to say about what he’s done for us, and his eighth anniversary is the perfect time to celebrate! Let’s take a look at what these six Reds have to say about the man who’s cut the same cloth as shankly.
“I was made for Liverpool and Liverpool was made for me,” the great Bill shankly once said, and lucky for Liverpool fans Jurgen klopp is cut from the same mold. He has not only built the greatest footballing team in the history of the club, but he has bought into the ethos of the club. From the way he greets the fans after every game, it’s a symbiotic relationship – he gives them energy and they give it back. No one wants to think of the day he goes, and many hope they will be coaxed back into staying, but when he does, the club – thanks in no small part to the charming Black Forest native – will be in far better shape. Winning what he has won, in the way he has won it, against clubs with greater resources – and some that have used seemingly nefarious methods to achieve success – seals his place as a Liverpool legend, but it’s not just that. In true Liverpool tradition, he has defied the establishment and stood up for fairness.

Klopp banishes The S*n
There are so many incredible memories that Klopp has left us with, but the one that stands out to me is when Klopp banned a journalist from The S*n newspaper less than a year into his tenure.
What should have been Klopp’s post-match press conference when we beat Barcelona 4-0 in a pre-season friendly quickly turned sour when Klopp cold-bloodedly answered the question: “I don’t speak to The S.
” .
” *n again.
He added: “It’s not because I’m at Liverpool now, it’s because of the things that are about to happen.
.
.
“
Very mysterious, but without even knowing the context of what was about to happen (The S*n published an article delving into the personal life of Dejan Lovren’s marital problems at the time), Klopp has won the hearts of all passionate Liverpool fans around the world.
Global.
With all that The S*n has done, we cannot understand why they are still allowed to attend our press conferences.
Klopp finally stepping up to ban them was a pivotal moment that made me truly love him.
He was born for Liverpool.
He is one of us.

“He never holds back”
My favorite memory is Adam Lallana’s winning goal against Norwich and the way Klopp’s form collapsed as everyone went wild to celebrate the goal.
You can see how much it means to the team and how much the players love it.
A favorite quote of Klopp’s is how he constantly describes us as “mental oddballs”.
My favorite match with Klopp has to be Barcelona.
The fact that we had serious injuries but still destroyed such an incredible team in such an important match.
And my favorite quality is that he never backs down.
He is willing to talk about anything without worrying about the consequences.

He is so “special”
Jurgen Klopp is special.
He is special in the way he understands our football club.
It’s special in that it helps you feel better after a bad result.
He is special in that he can always focus on what is important.
He was special in the way he lifted up those around him.
He was exceptional for his tireless dedication to the cause.
He’s exceptional in the way he takes responsibility and even blames things that aren’t even his fault.
He is special because of the values he defends.
He is unique in that he always seems to be on the right side of an argument.
And, yes, he is special in that he is a unique and wonderful football manager!
He may have claimed to be “normal,” but his gift is both very ordinary and extremely special.
We Liverpool fans are incredibly lucky to have Jurgen as our manager, our leader, our compass.
As for me, I hope he stays for many more years.

Never.
Give.
Upward.
Congrats on your eight year anniversary, boss!
I’m a Japanese fan living in Liverpool, I can’t believe it’s been eight years since you came to Merseyside.
Many, many thanks for massive memories like winning the Champions League, Premier League, and cup titles with our boys, and also being the bright light of the city.
I can’t choose just one exact moment to appreciate, but I would say…last season was quite emotional for me.
Though we had a bad start and finished in fifth place, you did not stop trusting and cheering on the boys and the supporters.
Your spirit of never giving up until the end is what Liverpool were looking for for many years. The games against Arsenal and Spurs at Anfield was the perfect embodiment of that last season.
I’m really proud that you are the manager of Liverpool Football Club, and our boys who are excelling under you.
We hope you will stay here for as long as possible, and we would be happy to have you for the rest of our lives!
PS. Wataru is fantastic, isn’t he?
Congrats again, my boss, Jurgen Klopp.

A reason to believe
The biggest compliment you can pay Jurgen is that he has united a fractured fanbase and given us reason to believe.
From that first press conference, he mobilized support, well aware that with Trinity moving in the same direction, Liverpool would be hard to stop.
My favorite memory is probably him and Jordan Henderson kissing in Madrid.
Both have overcome ups and downs, the captain struggling to prove his position and status, the manager overcoming the final hurdle and becoming a winner in England.
Tonight confirmed his belief as well as ours that we are looking at a great team.
He was created in his image.
Klopp has achieved incredible victories, many of which will go down in folk history.
Apart from the finals and United’s defeat, I always returned to Leicester on Boxing Day 2019.
It came just hours after the team returned from Qatar after being crowned club world champions.
The Foxes were then second in the table and many expected them to benefit from tired legs.
Instead, Liverpool knocked them out in the best Premier League performance I can remember since watching the Red Devils.
It is the surest sign that they will finish this 30-year project, no matter what opponents or obstacles stand in their way.
As for men, there are too many adorable traits to list.
Everything from fashion to politics is simply Liverpool.
If you created a Red Devils manager in a laboratory, you would find Jurgen Klopp.
He is one of us and in my opinion, he can stay forever.
