While the transfer window is now closed for English clubs, teams from Saudi Arabia can continue to sign players.
Mohamed Salah has been a player of interest for Al-Ittihad of late and the Saudi club were rejected in their initial attempt to sign him. Jurgen Klopp has reaffirmed his stance regarding Salah and has laughed off the speculation linking the winger to Saudi Arabia.
They aren’t ready to give up, either, as a rumored ÂŁ200 million offer may be forthcoming.
Before Liverpool’s match against Aston Villa, Klopp was questioned about the rumors and asked if the rumor affected his decision to start Salah.
“I didn’t have to,” Klopp said to Sky Sports. “It was a media story, but nothing happened. In my office, I have a large desk, a ton of papers, a laptop, and an iPad, but none of them are occupied with this kind of news.
“We didn’t even consider it, and I have a lot of other things to accomplish. Mo had a very typical and productive training week. There was nothing to consider from my perspective.
Although Klopp appears to be handling the matter calmly, numerous outlets continue to suggest that Salah may be the subject of a deal.
The 31-year-old is rumored to be considering moving to Saudi Arabia, where he would become one of the highest-paid footballers of all time.
Salah has been doing well for Liverpool thus far this season, so losing him now would be devastating.
Klopp was questioned earlier this week on the danger posed by Saudi Arabia’s interest and how it would affect the European match.
I don’t know how long it will continue this way, but I think the next two weeks will demonstrate just how difficult it is, according to Klopp.

“Because [if they lose players] no one can react any longer. The game needs to be safeguarded. I adore all of my Saudi-traveling players.
However, the league does not keep me from my watching habits. The strength of the European leagues must be maintained.
“Perhaps we can slightly alter certain laws or rules? The Saudi Arabian activity has all of us in awe. It appears to be more dangerous than not.
